I have looked at my recent bill and I noticed a 3 dollar charge in the data section. Said something about app and was just labeled event. I have only ever bought one app and it was SwiftKey which was a dollar. Was wondering if anyone can explain it to me.

The best that I can come up with based on what you said is that charge has to do and an "application purchase."
That happens when a 3rd party service is used and is billed to the mobile provider. There are a large number of ways this can happen.
Most of the time, in my experience taking those kinds of calls, is the issue was not done by the user of the phone but somone who either knows your number or makes a random guess for a cell phone number so THAT individual can make the purchase and have it bill to someone else to avoid the cost for person who used the service.

I would give Koodo a call to see if they can find out the name of the company. I know it can be done as I have done it numerous times. Once the name of the company is found out, that could give a better indication as to how that charge showed up on your bill.

Thank you very much that was very helpful. I believe I have figured out what it was. I'm a Facebook game addict lol and I think i used my mobile number to purchase some in game bucks. Lol. My own lack of thinking. But you helped me remember. I love that this community is available to us koodo clients. :)

I've been guilty of the same thing lol. Not Facebook but another online game of sorts.

Your purchase of Swiftkey would not have been charged to your bill with Koodo. Google handles all their purchases in the app with a credit card. I think Paypal works too.

What kind of plan are you on? Sounds like you might have enabled data and used the internet inadvertently and you got charged.
