What is the best current smartphone plan? Wishlist: unlimited text, free evening and weekends, caller id/ voicemail, at least 500 mb of data, tab.

I'm currently on a Canada Wide Double Promo for my blackberry.. any way this can carry over at all to an iphone?

Thank you!

As long as your current double promo plan is $30 or higher, then you can decide to keep it and even go on Tab M, which is up to -300 off a phone. You'll have a $5 Tab charge on top of your plan every month until it clears after 24 months.

Tab S is only 150 off a phone but there are no plan restrictions or Tab charge.

The nice thing about your plan is that if it says (BB) next to it, then it'll work with any phone.

As for phone recommendations, the Moto G, Desire 601, and Q5 are all the best value because they're $0 on Tab S. Nexus 5 is a good option but I recommend you buy it from Google directly, if you can.

Nexus 4 is still floating around (not on the website except for pre-owned) but call ahead to make sure they have stock first.

I don't recommend the S4 until the S5 comes out and you wait for a price drop, the S III is a decent phone for free on Tab M but it's getting old, and the iPhone 4S 8GB is a decent deal as well but it's getting old too.

Wow, thanks for the lengthy reply! Lots of good news in your post.

My current plan is Canada Wide Double Promo30(BB) - $30.00 .. I get unlimited texting, voice mail / call display, 200 mb of data (I could use more if I'm getting a new phone, but not a necessity), 150 anytime minutes.. Therefore I think I'd be best to keep this plan with a new phone.

What do you suggest makes most sense for value in my case? Tab M or Tab S?

Thank you again for the great answer!

Tab M if you want a more expensive phone. 5 x 24 = 120 extra, but you save 150 off the phone in store, so it works out for the better. You can take any phone on any tab level, including iPhones, but Apple requires them to show the highest subsidy.

Keep in mind that the overage on the $30 double promo plan (I have the same one) is 2 cents/mb (equivalent to $5/250 mb), so if the minutes are enough for you you might want to stay on it.
