Best kids phone

I am already a Koodo customer and I am looking for a secondary phone that is somewhat kid friendly as I have school-aged kids and would like to be able to text them if I am going to be late or they can text me if they are running late. Does anyone know of a good one? Also, what plan would be the cheapest and best suited for this (text being the most commonly used practice and phone for emergency only).

Years from now saying someone is "all thumbs" will be a compliment.

You can check Koodo's Certified Pre-Owned phone too.
There are limited variety of phones on the website, but if you call around Koodo shops(not retailers) they might have different  phones in stock :)
