Is there a benefit to paying off my tab early?  Am I more likely to get promos from koodo with or without a tab? Thanks!

Does anyone know Koodo's methods to offering promos?

Directed plan promos will likely be based on your usage, and device promos based on the age of your phone. General promos are available to all, and you can pay out your Tab at that time if the promo suits you.

Thank you kindly, David!  So not really worth paying it off then, I suppose! I can always pay it off later if a promo suits me. Thank you :)

If you currently have an expensive monthly TAB Large plan  (as a condition of getting a good deal on your last phone purchase) paying off your tab would enable you to switch to a cheaper monthly plan. For example, there is a current promo on  No TAB plans that offers unlimited phone and text plus 2 GB of data for $45 per month.  If this would meet your needs and  is cheaper to pay than your current plan, it would be a good idea to pay off your tab and downsize your monthly bill.

thanks, Elinor! I actually got a tab (and a new phone) in order to get a promotional plan that Koodo offered me ($60 for 10gb), so i'm happy with my plan. Just curious if I should pay off my tab or not, and if there would be any benefit to me.

Well you're not paying any interest on it, so it really changes nothing, whether you pay it now or later. Up to you if you prefer to pay it off at once or let it run its course over 24 months.

@Amanda, your promo you got with your tab is as good as it gets.  No other recent promo will be any better than that (plan wise).

If you are looking for a deal with the phone, it is difficult to say how Koodo decides to send the targeted text deals (which is subject to regular change as well).  If you are not looking to buy another phone, I would keep the tab.  but if you are in the market for another device, then I would recommend paying off the tab.... however there is no guarantee that you will get a phone promo or a phone promo you actually want

Thank you, very helpful. The phone promo I got wasn’t one I wanted. I simply got the phone for the plan, and sold the phone. Not really in the market for a new plan but wouldn’t want to rule out potential promos either
