I still have 10 months left on a Bell contract, but I desperately want out and into a plan with Koodo! What do I do?

I believe Bells cancellation policy is $20 per month left on your contract up to a maximum of $400 and a minimum of $100. So, you would be paying $200 to cancel. How much would you be saving with Koodo to off set the $200 loss? As much as I hate Bell, I'd stick it out another 10 months and then make the switch go Koodo.

She is still under the old ECF, so samsvoc is correct

Bell just brought in a new cancellation policy where you take the price you got taken off the device for signing a contract & divide it by the amount of months in the contract & multiply it by the number of months left.

So if you signed a 3 year contract & paid $0 up front for a device that costs $600 to buy out right then it would be $600 divided by 36 months = $16.66

Then you'd multiply that by the # of months left in your contract (we will say 10)
So $16.66 times 10 months = $166.66

Thats how it's figured out now so you just have to know how much you got discounted from your phone for signing the contract.

I'm glad you took the time to explain Bell's new ECF policy, however it only applies for those who activated or renewed on or after Feb 10, 2013. She is still on the old policy.

I would rather switch even if I have to pay cancellation. You can buy phone at mobileshop they are offering $75 gift cards on new activation. So you take that $75 from your cancellation.

Kid, the new rules may not apply in Megan's case as she may have signed a contract before the new rules come into effect. So she's stuck on the old policy. Old policy, old cancellation fees. I went through the same situation when I was with Rogers.

Your correct I didn't realize it didn't apply to certain time frames of purchase. Thanks for pointing that out. I apologize if I caused any confusion.
