Extremely disappointed with service being experienced. I am a current and loyal customer, who made the switch from Rogers to Koodo nearly a year and a half ago, and I went into store to claim the 10GB for $60 on Saturday. However, they directed me to call the Koodo hotline. I did this every day since then and have either not been able to get through, or have been on hold for hours(!!!!!) each day. To say I am disappointed and frustrated is an understatement. Wtf! Can anyone help me on this issue, because I am going to miss out become of the incompetency of the representatives you have working for you? Otherwise I think I will be cancelling my services after this craze is done.

Sob... I wish I would have seen this before, honestly if you still have the opportunity to talk with a rep at a store... Buy the 10 for 60 as a new random number.... Once that's done... Port your number from your old Accnt to your new 10 for 60... Technically it's a new registration. This works only if you own your phone.
I went to the kiosk to try and to that. He said the only way they could do it was to create a new line and sign up for it then cancel your old line and lose your number.

I’m still on hold with them on the phone (been on the phone for 1 hour and 30 minutes at this point). Does anyone think there’s still a chance or should I just hang up?
I'm not sure. Does anyone know when this deal ends?
I just signed up with Virgin. Free sim, took me 5 minutes online. 56/ a month plus tax is 64. Sorry Koodo, i've been a member for a long time, but you really dropped the ball.

See they Koodo is so _______ (insert word) . Losing your number!? Maybe they should get some reputable and competent staff who can run their kiosks properly! Have they never heard about porting numbers. Its this awesome cool thing set out by the CRTC allowing customers to switch to different providers without the penalty of losing their number... and losing your number????? When an account is deactivated, that number is held in limbo for 180 days untill its re-released. You are allowed to restore an account/number upto 90 days after the deactivation date.

Also
Its called purchasing a 10 for 60 account, with a random number. Then also purchasing a prepaid sim for $20. Activating the Prepaid at home on your pc/mac with a NEW random number. You will now have your old account with your desired number on it, along with a prepaid with a random number and a 10 for 60 with a random number on it. You then (using koodo selfserve) port the number from your current account with the desired number over to the prepaid sim. this will kill your old account, but transfer your desired number to the prepaid, killing the random number on the prepaid. Next (after ensuring the number transferred to the prepaid properly, makes some calls to another phone to check the number) is to port the number from the prepaid to the 10 for 60 using selfserve. Once thats done.. Your done.... its 4 steps... and easy ones at that. There is no rule breaking what so ever, this is 100% by the book. Some kiosk workers JUST DONT GET IT. I sat there at the kiosk the other day, walking the guy through his.. HIS process in giving me a new account.... Its crazy, and then they close their lines.

You may be asking "why the prepaid?". Well you cant port a number from a postpaid to postpaid ( atleast it has never worked for me) You have to use the prepaid as a bridge. Go from post paid to prepaid to post paid.

In the future never hesitate to get a random account with your desired plan. As you can always cancel it within 14 ish days with no charge. all you loose is like $10 from the sim card.

Look for other carriers with the plan... they might extend their plans for your business. You never know.

if you need any help ill be here
