Nobody can answer that but a rep, Scott. You can visit any kiosk and inquire - you know the saying if you don't ask... :) Bring two pieces of ID and who knows you might be pleasantly surprised - depending on how bad your credit really is of course.

All that said I would suggest you work on improving your credit because a bad score will really affect the rest of your life too... you can always consider prepaid with a really basic phone until your credit improves :)

Hi Scott,

You can always go to a Koodo kiosk or retailer and try to get a phone on a tab, if they deny you from being able to sign up due to your credit then you can always sign up for prepaid. On Koodo it's pretty good for what I've seen. So either way you have an option of getting services through Koodo.

Hope that helps :)

We would run a credit check on you for a post paid account , at least, and the credit class that we get about you determines if we are able to offer service, offer with a tab, offer with no tab.

But so you know, I went through a bankruptcy, and then switched to koodo, I did not think that I could get a phone or a tab, but I was able to get service without a problem.

As I said, it all depends on you credit class.

My credit is rock bottom and the pre pays they want hundreds and hundreds for a decent phone.

No offense, but decent phones don't cost several hundreds. Flagships do. Examples of decent phones include the Moto G and the Lumia 635, both @ $200 on prepaid. You may also be able to find the recently retired Blackberry Q5 in some kiosks, also @$200.

You can also score something nice from the 2nd hand market and use that. Many many possibilities on a budget.

Don't lose hope! The only way to find out is to try and see if they can get you situated. I'm sure you'd be able to get something through Koodo. Just go to the nearest retailer that sells Koodo phones and go from there. The worst they can say is no.

Well, if they did you can still sign up for the prepaid plan as already mentioned.
Also you can ask them what Certified Pre-Owned Phones they have in stock. Stock levels vary depending on locations, so call around before you go to a Koodo shop.

Buy a Moto G outright. It is less than $200 and is a rock solid device, in my opinion.

At Koodo, it is $200 on prepaid. It's only $150 for those on monthly plans.

Completely agreed that it's a wonder phone, though!

Pick up the Telus version, $150. It should work on both carriers.
