Back ground data gobble up??

with apps that use background data can this be shut off if the said app is not being used?

Hi Jeff
Yes the background apps can be turned off and will save you some data. Personally, I turn my data off all the time and take advantage of wifi when I can. It makes a huge difference.

What phone are you using? If it's an android phone some allow you to shut off background data by going into settings - data usage and hit the menu button, then choose to not allow background data. Also go into each app or widgets settings and you can turn off some there so they don't sync at set intervals. Also make it good be active to fully close apps by holding down the home button then when the list of apps pops in swipe them right or left to close them. These are all on android.
