Auto-prepend 1

I have a Galaxy S3 and I cannot figure out how to auto-prepend 1. I have my contacts stored as (xxx) xxx-xxxx and every time I call a LD number (without adding a 1 first) I get a warning about how I may be charged LD. From reading around it seems it might be a network issue as the phone should be able to handle this - my old CDMA phone could, anyway!

Am I missing something or is there actually a problem?

Are you worried you'll get charged for LD even thought you have the Canada wide plan? If you are you won't don't worry it just says that.
If the calls are not going through then input the #s as 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx that's what I have and all calls go through with no issue ever.

Thanks for the reply - I'm not worried - I know I won't be charged - it's just annoying to listen to a message before the call connects. So I guess I'll have to input all the 1s. Just seems weird that it doesn't 'just work', you know?
