As it stands, Koodo is soley a Canadian company. There is no intention of moving to the USA as far as I know. If there was any sort of thought to move to another country for service, it would be near impossible to give out such details as Koodo usually doesn't let anyone know until it is either posted on their Facebook page, this site, or the day it happens.

On another note, glad to hear you enjoy the service :)

I wouldn't hold my breath, I don't think that Koodo has any plans to expand into the US market.

If you're moving to the usa there are some prepaid carriers there that have rates similar (or better) to Koodo and some even let you bring your own device. Of you're not a heavy data user, ask your bf to check out straight talk (tmobile version) 45$ a month unlimited use add a free Google voice account and he can call you all day and text you until his fingers fall off. And since you can already text the usa from your koodo phone you're g2g.

If calling the USA is important to you you do have options

Koodo offers a long distance saver add on that makes calls to the USA 5 cents per minute, right now i believe you're paying 45 cents per minute.

Jajah gives you the option to convert unlimited foreign numbers to local numbers for a fee of. 03 cents per minute (prepaid) and rounded to the next minute. This service offers an access number so you can call in and then dial whatever number you wish like a calling card. Numbers you likely won't call again or call infrequently.

SKYPE TO GO, this service is 2.99 a month and includes unlimited calling to up to 30 numbers in the USA. Like Jajah it converts foreign numbers into local numbers. It also has a local access number you can use to call any number outside of the 30 you've created. You can also register up to 20 phones so your family can use your Skype To Go numbers as well.

If you have a nights and weekends package or unlimited anytime minutes, you can talk as much as you want and not worry about extra charges during those times. At least One Mobile Master uses the service along with an unlimited plan to keep in touch with his family in FL.

Cingular was bought up by AT&T. They used to use it only for their prepaid division but have since absorbed it. AT&T is great jn the states but their Straight Talk TOS are terribly vauge.

According to the most recent reports, we'll be waiting for Verizon for quite a while...

Maybe, but the cartel keeps their PR campaign alive; their CEOs are taking turns every day with stories about scary things that can happen if the big bad Verizon is coming to town. They are afraid, and they are likely to have more information than us...

Really? You think that they are scared just because Verizon is coming? They are scared, but not for the reasons you think.

The reasons they are scared is because the big 3 have a monopoly on Canadian telecommunications(I'd go as far to say that all 3 actually talk to each other and devise up a system).

They do not want Verizon to come in and take away from their bottom dollar, bec ause that would force them to change, which they do not want to do.

That's why their scared. The videos you see? Nothing more than your standard business PR stuffs. They are trying to scare their customers into believing the bad instead of the good.

Verizon coming to Canada would be good because it would help breed competition, something that Canada needs very much.
