Are the plans all getting more expensive?

Well, I joined Koodo a year ago because of the awesome plans they had, and I used to tell everyone about it, but now the plans seem to be just as expensive as all the other companies. The attractiveness of Koodo just isn't as good as it used to be. Maybe I'm wrong. I'd like a plan with just texting, cheap pay as you go data, and a bit of anytime minutes.

John, you just more or less described prepaid!

$15 a month will get you unlimited SMS (you get 10% put back in your account if you use a CC to pay). This needs to be renewed every 30 days.

Then you data and voice boosters. They don't expire, so take all the time you need to plow through them! As long as your $15 plan is active, so are your boosters!

Nice, right? :oP

Thanks! I guess I just didn't look hard enough. Just a quick question, they only have a few phone listed under the prepaid, is that because I can only use those phones with prepaid? Or can I use any phone?

You can use any phone with prepaid service as long as it's unlocked or already a Koodo phone and supports HSPA 850/1900 bands. They just trimmed down their prepaid selection because more people were buying them outright without ever activating on the network (or not staying very long). Carriers make little money on phone sales; their main source of revenue is rate plans.

All companies always had +\- the same price since a pretty long time ago. Having data is somethin considered exepensive for our cellphon companies, therefore this is where they will extract most of the money from customers!
