Is there a plan already in place for children (old enough "children") for a phone where they have just the basics to phone home etc.? and attached to parents phone and what are the costs involved?

There is no suchg thing with Koodo nor other companies that I know of. What I may suggest is that you take a look at prepaid. It'S 15/month and it includes unlimited texts on which you could add some minutes for as low as 5$ for 25 minutes

No there is not. The phone will be able to call any number.

Your best bet is to sign up for prepaid.
This way there will be no overage fears. And if you two text then you wont need mins or data at all.

You're child can have their phone and rate plan under 'your account'. This means that any usage gets billed on ONE invoice. There's a talk and text plan for $30 and you can put a data block on it so they don't use data
