Apple iOS 10.3.1 - Email Account - "Cannot verify server identity"

I am using an Apple iPhone 6 with Apple iOS 10.3.1 and I am trying to add my workplace email account.

I am getting a trust certificate issue and an error appears "Cannot verify server identity"

Oddly, at my workplace this does not occur with Apple iPhones using Rogers and Telus as their cell phone provider.

Yes, I said Telus and Koodo is a subsidiary of Telus.

If Koodo Advanced Technical Support could look into this and resolve it, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Are you inputting the right mail servers? Double check with one of your co-workers who have the email up and running and verify that all the settings are correct.
Just to confirm, you are trying to add the account and don't have it added already?

Hi Allen,

Thank you for the reply, and yes, I am typing the work place account information correctly.

Also, yes, I am trying to add a new account onto my Apple iPhone.

We have typed in the same information on each phone, and it appears phones that have Koodo as a service provider is having this issue.

It is effecting more then one employee, that uses Koodo, at my workplace.  Very frustrating.

Does it work when connected to Wifi?

Not sure the Koodo Advanced Technical Support are watching this bulletin post, but after a week of troubleshooting - included connected to WiFi, both myself and a colleague that both use Koodo got our work email to work on our respective Apple iPhones.

This is what we had to do:

Apple iPhone - iOS 10.3.2 (latest operating system as of writing)
Connected via WiFi.

1. Press Settings
2. Press Mail
3. Press Accounts
4. Press Add Account
5. Press Exchange
6. Email: (Type Email Address)
7. Description: (Type Description of account)
8. Press Next

9. Password: (Type Email Password)
10. Press Next

11. Server: (Type mail server address. ie:
12. Domain: (Type in local domain name. ie.
13. Username: (Type in username to log into domain. ie. jsmith)
14. Press Next

A prompt will appear that you "Cannot Verify Server Identity"

15. Press Details
16. Press More Details
17. Press Certificate
18. Press Cancel

A prompt will appear, "Unable to verify account information"

19. Select OK
20. Press Save
21. Press Save
22. Press Save

Now Delete the newly created Exchange Account

Create Account again, following steps 1 to 14.

Another option will appear that you "Cannot Verify Server Identity" BUT there will be THREE options.

23. Press Continue
24. Proceed adding the email account to your phone.
25. After finalizing creating your email account, wait two minutes for the email to download onto your phone.

Hope this helps anyone that is getting this annoying "Trust Certificate" and "Cannot Verify Server Identity" error messages with Apple iOS.

Thank you
