Samsung Galaxy SIII- I am receiving some of my texts but there are many people who are unable to text me back? It is from a few different numbers all from different providers. Any ideas on how to fix?

With my old Koodo phone I had this happen and they swapped the network card out and I had no problems. Is anyone else having this problem? Is this a phone or a network problems?

I am getting extremely frustrated! I'm open to ideas

If you're unable to send or receive any SMS (text) messages to any contacts, but your phone is otherwise perfectly functional, it suggests that your your network operator's message centre number stored in your device's settings is either missing or wrong. Follow these steps to check, and if necessary correct, that number.

1. From the Home screen touch Apps.

2. Touch Messaging (you may need to swipe left or right to locate it first).

3. Touch the Menu key.

4. Touch Settings.

5. Locate Message centre. Directly beneath it should be the message centre phone number of your network operator. (Check your network operator's website for their message centre number to compare). If the number on your phone is different, or missing, touch Message centre, enter your network operator's message centre number and then touch OK. Then try sending a text message.

If the text message still won't send, or if your phone already had the correct message centre number stored, please follow the next steps to clear the data in the Messaging app.

Clear the Messaging app's data

1. From the Home screen touch Apps.

2. Touch Settings (you may need to swipe left or right to locate it first).

3. Touch Application Manager (you may need to touch the More tab first).

4. Swipe left several times to see the All list of apps.

5. Scroll down to locate Messaging and touch it.

6. Touch Clear Data.

7. Restart your device.

8. Try sending a text message. If it doesn't work perform a factory reset on your device.

Perform a factory reset

Follow the steps below to perform a factory reset.

1. Back up all the media, text messages, etc that you wish to save. This can be done through Kies on your PC. A factory reset will wipe your phone clean, restoring the software to how it was when the device left the factory.

2. From the Home screen touch Settings.

3. Touch Back up and reset.

4. Touch Factory data reset.

5. Touch Reset device.

If you're still unable to send any text messages after setting up your device again we recommend arranging for a Samsung engineer to inspect your device. Click here to find the location and contact details of your nearest Samsung service centre.
