Another bad day with Koodo for me , bad service on all points, completely Zero services available for most of the day today 26th of April, starting around 11.am. Problems still persist and it's now 10h30pm. finally reached *611 and a Koodo rep said two walls fell, that's why there's outtages. Is this a joke? It's just adding more to already way too many Koodo problems for me. When i think problems are resolved, no...every time something else happens for me with Koodo. I'm still not gone yet and i pay my bills, the moment is critical, now it's up to koodo if they want me to stay. Good luck with the walls, Thanks!

hi Max,
What were other problems besides the outage today? I recalled 1 outage of rogers in the past at least. So outage was not a special unique product of Telus/Koodo.

And the wall does need some luck...

if all companies offer the same quality of reception and the same coverage and use the same towers the same ways, then what would explain that my gf who is with Rogers can receive a call on her cell but mine with koodo is completely out of service when both our phones are the same model and both phones are sitting right next to each other at home?
why is it that the minute i get close to certain areas in my neighborhood, signal quality drops or is lost, but other people with other companies don't have that problem being right next to me? Often the closer to the water, the worse it gets. I live close to water now, so it really seems to be a problem. That's been an everlasting problem with both Motorola cells i had plus a Samsung Galaxy, so i really have a hard believing it's a cell problem or defect.

All companies don't offer the same coverage and reception. Just ask people who are with Freedom. Telus was having a problem which explains why your gf had reception with Rogers and you didn't with koodo /Telus. For all the issues you say you are having with koodo its strange that you are still with them. By all means go with someone else where you think they have better coverage closer to water. Do I think changing providers will help you? No but if it's in your head that you will get better coverage somewhere else then make the change.

I said "apart from the smaller companies that have their own towers" (ie: freedom), "you really only have Bell/Telus and Roger's networks".

If you are having issues of calls dropping and other people arent who are with companies using the same towers than you're likely now looking at a phone issue and not a carrier issue.

Did you have issues even prior to the outage yesterday?  Maybe the 2 are not related?

@Max:
Because Bell/Telus are using the same network, Rogers/Fido is the only one left. Freedom mobile is properly not in your area yet. If they seem to have better signal coverage in your area, you might want to check them out.

The other way is to buy a cellular booster and put it near your place. It could help you significantly.

Now it's up to Koodo? All providers have issues sometimes. If it's so critical maybe you should go try your luck elsewhere. Would it do you any good? Probably not.

Issues most of the time is not normal.  Trying my luck elsewhere is a possibility that i seriously am considering. The bills aren't cheap and i pay them. In return, i expect a certain quality of service and i am entitled to it. Problems once in a while is acceptable, but what I've been experimenting is something else, another level of exceptional patience is required. Thanks!

If you are on a grandfather plan, I bet your bill is cheaper than what you can get right now anywhere else.
If not, I do not understand why you are staying if you have all these issues? There is no reward or benefit for loyalty here with the exception of a grandfathered plan
