Why do advetise a free phone for signing a 2 year contract... but when the phone is no good before the 2 years are up you have to pay for it... even after signing a 2 year contract again... i will tell you this... when my contract ends i will NOT ever sign with KOODO again.

It's most certainly not Koodo's fault that your phone didn't make your 2 year agreement.

This is, however, a common issue. The manufacturers only guarantee their products for 1 year from manufacturer faults and defects in workmanship.

The next phone you get, you can get the extended protection that will guarantee your phone for the whole 2 years of your new contract.

If you decide to leave Koodo over this that's your choice. I will inform you that the phones are no different anywhere else.

Yes i will leave when the contract is over... i do not feel it is a good situation.... Free is free... and making you pay for it again and sign a contract again... will not happen again... found bell and telus much better.

Bell and Telus work the exact same way that Koodo does but the choice is yours.

I have customers come in every day that pay off phones early because they didn't last. On Koodo, Telus, Bell, Virgin, Fido and Rogers.

The phones are also never free. They just happen to be $0 upfront.

I'm sorry that you've been mislead to believe that the phones are "free". Leaving Koodo to go to another company will not fix things. You still have the opportunity to be in the same "situation" no matter where you go.

I would strongly recommend opting in for a protection plan on your next phone.

Where does Koodo advertise a free phone?

You get a Tab that will clear in 2 years or less based on usage.

Koodo doesnt make the phones. If they break then you have to go through the manufacturer's warranty.
If you leave Koodo then you have to pay for the remaining phone subsidy. This was determined by the CTRC.

What do you do when your TV or Computer breaks? Do you go after the cable or internet companies?

If you break your phone you have options still.
-You can send it to the manufacturer for repair (Koodo will even send it in to get a repair cost) or you can have a 3rd party repair it for you.
-You can buy a new/used unlocked phone to use
-You can buy a new phone to replace your current phone from Koodo
-You can pay off your Tab and buy a new phone on a new tab to replace your current phone

Tons of my phones have lasted me more than two years. I am very diligent in taking care of my phone though.
