That phone has HSDPA 900 / 2100. For 3g. Which Koodo doesn't have from the article I'm reading

Probably from when Koodo had 2g. ? The stats may have worked in the past. I'll pass the info on.

is the best place to check this out, since they split out the 2G, 3G and LTE components. You must have the correct 3G frequencies to get basic Koodo service and data, and Band 4 LTE for more advanced data and voice going forward.

There may still be some vestiges of 2G networks around, but largely in very remote areas or with other carriers (Rogers).

Koodo didn't have ever have 2g (they had an equivalent in terms of their CDMA network), Rogers was the only Canadian carrier to offer 2g gsm service.
