Am I reading this right? $5 price drop?

Guys (gals)... I've been mostly off the net for the last couple of days, and now I'm seeing this... Did the $50/unlm/1GB Quebec promo plan effectively become the $45/unlm/1GB Quebec promo plan? TL;DR, did the plan just have its price dropped by $5? I have the 10% BYOD discount, so it shows $45 in my case anyway, so I just want to make sure.

And are existing subscribers automatically adjusted, or do we need to change plans? And does it really include call forwarding now too?

Wow... that feels like a noob post, haha!

And one more thing. Thanks Koodo, this plan finally makes a bit of sense in the middle of all that has happened over the last 2 months!

Yes, it did drop by $5.
All customers residing in Quebec who changed to or activated this plan since Aug 26 will automatically get the lower price.
I don't see that it includes unlimited call forwarding, so it's probably just the standard pay per use forwarding option that's included in all the plans.

Hey thanks Timo!

That's great to hear!

That's what I meant by Call Forwarding. And I did not add the CF add-on. Thoughts?

@SkAshe: I'd be really surprised if Videotron offered the iPhone this fall. It takes a bit more than mere AWS compatibility. Even when AT&T's exclusivity ended in the US, the talks and agreements for other carriers to offer it were insane. Apple's demands, it seems, are diva-like. Time is also at play here, and this is what Videotron is lacking this time I think. They have the money and all that, but I think there won't be enough time for them to offer it at launch. However, nothing keeps them from offering it at a later date. Which brings me to my other point: I doubt Koodo's $45 plan will still be offered when you're finally settled on Videotron.

@mattjs: Well, they get away with it simply because they can, nothing more. They bet a lot on the fact that people feel dependent on their phones. And they're not even trying to hide the greed anymore, so they might as well exploit and milk it all they can... They know people will bend over, order it dry and pay whatever they charge.

Yeah I know, but on their Facebook page they frequently say "The iPhone 5 does work on our network, but it is not available on a 3 year contract, more information to come" maybe because they will offer it day one.

I'm just hoping that the 45$ plan will still be there on the 10th. If Videotron don't boast the 10th that they will offer the iPhone, then they won't offer it at the release so I'll jump on the 45$ promo.

I wish the $45 plan is still there by the 10th :P If I was you though, I'd go grab it right now with No Tab just in case.... If Videotron surprises you, you just need to pay Koodo a small fee and cancel. If nothing good comes out of VTL, you have your Koodo plan ready to go :P I take it as some kind of "insurance", hehe

You have a good point, but the promo that I'm currently on won't be available again. Oh and a one time 35$ activation fee to come back to Videotron. So if I switch to Koodo, I won't come back to Videotron. :P

I never told you to switch :P You can most likely financially support both lines for a month :) When you have all the info, you can make a choice :P
