I have the Tab-S, with about $50 remaining. Am I understanding correctly that the difference, compared to the the new plans, is that the payments towards the phones are separated (lower priced plan, with monthly phone cost)?

I've been reading, but can't wrap my head around whether or not I should switch (keeping the same phone). I know that I will need to pay off my tab if I do.

I'm looking for pros and cons. I think there might be a con if the tab changes to positive, but I haven't read up on that, nor does it concern me at this point.

The difference is that on the new tab, the subsidy you get on the phone is divided by 24 months and that amount is added to your monthly charges every month for 24 months.

Kind of the same with the old way, your phone gets paid off in 24 months except there's no contributions and discounts. Both models had a monthly tab charge to pay off the balance.
