Each store is responsible for its own inventory as far as I know. You may have to order it online or through Customer service if thats the device you have your heart set on.

Hey Chad,

Phones cannot be ordered online through Customer Service by phone or email. However, it's possible to order a phone via our website :)

You may want to get the Moto X Play instead anyways, I have both the idol 3 and Moto X Play and the Moto X Play is better in every single way except for sound which the idol 3 is louder. Also how do you feel about updates to Android are they important because I highly doubt the idol 3 will be updated to Marshmallow if their past track record is any indication while the Moto X Play is already running Android 6.0 Marshmallow

The Moto X Play pretty much replaced the Idol 3, it is indeed better in every way except thinness for a similar price point. I would get that phone instead.

Worst case scenario is if you're really hung up on getting the Idol 3 you can order it from an online retailer or check eBay, Kijiji, etc.

The Moto X Play is almost 25% more expensive.  However, I've heard this same recommendation elsewhere, so I will seriously consider it.  Thank you for the advice.

If you take pictures with your phone you'll definitely be happier with it, it's worth the little extra for that alone not to mention it has IMO the best 1080p display ever on a phone.

Actually, pictures are key.  As a phone, my usage averages 30 min/month.  My pre-SIM clamshell sits in the car until I go shopping and decide to call my wife to find out if we need something I found on sale. PC Mobile at 20 cents/minute will do me, once I find someone on the internet to unlock the phone.  Thing is, I see which way the world is turning - you need a mobile device to call Uber or reserve a specific room at Marriott chain hotels.  But my decade old camera is also near death and I see no reason to buy two separate devices.

I didn't realize you can unlock a non-SIM phone.  Also, I understand the carriers in Canada are already in the midst of shutting down the old CDMA network, with the exception of a few places in the northern part of the country.

Misunderstanding.  I'll be looking to unlock my new phone.
