I have the altel one touch pop icon for tracfone. It is low end for smartphones but has the larger screen and I need that. Does anyone know where I can get an extra battery? I can see it better than the other phone I have for tracfone and I like the payments. I would like to have the extra battery on hand. Hopefully one day tracfone will use 4g.

I like ebay for extra batteries. Just grab the model number of your phone or battery and search to find a compatible model.

Tracfone has access to 4g but you'll never see LTE with the Alcatel because of the chipset it uses. Even if you did tracfone is limited to 8mbps (its fast enough but not full speed)

I have a Net10 sim i use with my Alcatel. They are part of tracfone.

^How are the Alcatel phones? I've sold them but I've never had the chance to actually play with one.

I have a strange problem where even though it says its connected to the a mobile or wifi network, no apps can use data. Cycling airplane mode fixes it. Today i also turned off wifi optimization which may be part of the problem.

Other than that, I love my Idol X+
It's a great little mid flagship. The screen is so clear and everything just pops.

I'd recommend the Idol X+ to others for sure. Idk about any of their lower end devices.

Alcatel repair/warranty site (USA):

I bet their quote for the battery is for just about what you paid for the Tracfone.

Chad's suggestion that you get the battery model is the way to go.

Also if you just can't find a battery you could always just buy one of those portable battery backups from Wal-Mart. Just keep that charged and with you in your tech bag.

Chad has the better idea....

Alcatel big screen will probably suck power fast. Maybe better to shop around for a stronger charger.

Lots to choose from at less than probable replacement battery costs.
