Airplane Mode in US

I want to be able to use my iPhone's camera in the US for a week. If I put it into airplane mode (and connect to wifi separately), will I incur any mysterious charges for this type of use? I keep location services off regularly as well.

I'm aware I won't have call or text services this way, but will it somehow 'find a way' to roam? I'm hoping to avoid adding a US plan since all I will be using my phone for is the camera...

You can use it in the method you described without worrying about extra charges.

Airplane modde on
Wifi on

If you want to be 200% sure you can also remove the sim card.
