Why? Every plan includes data, if you go over your included data you pay the overage rate.

it would be nice have the option, i dont see why its not an option that is considered to get new costumers to come over to koodo, if you want to have more customers then having promos like that will have new people come
I agree. I have the 30$ plan with koodo and my data is pay as you go.. I don't get a set amount of data with my plan. Data add-ons is what I was looking for but apparently koodo doesn't have them.. I find it weird that there isn't a data add-on option.

They used to have data add-on a couple years ago, I used it every summer, just for a few months in the summer. It was great,it was 20.00 for 2gigs,so I could get internet at our cottage,,but unfortunately I found out they got rid of it last summer.Totally baffled why koodo has to keep making things worse for its customers!
She has the 30$ plan and her data just rolled over, but checking email and messenger last night used 28 of her 100 mb for the month!! I need to add more data for 1 week because they are being billeted on a campus with no free wifi and dread what the bill could end up!

Consider bumping up the plan for one month to the next level. Depending on where you are located, $10 more a month can buy another 400 mb of data and substantially more minutes. It would be cheap insurance, but keep the plan for at least 30 days to get the full benefit. Don't cut it off after a week, because the math of pro-rata billing will not be in your favour.

The only drawback is that there is no guarantee your current plan will be available after you switch out of it.

As parents stranded on the other side of Canada, that is what we are considering, but I still had questions for a real person ...mostly about being able to go back down from the 60$ plan after a month. I have been on hold for almost 40 minutes after a whole morning of trying to find a solution.

What then 611 folks will tell you is that you can change your plan (no charge) once per billing cycle, and there is no guarantee you can return to your current plan: you will have to choose from something available at that time.

What they won't tell you is how the pro-rata math while fair, is never in your favour. It will pay you to do the plan upgrade as close to the beginning of the billing cycle in question as possible, so that it provides the most coverage when needed and the earliest possible exit date.

You can always step down on your plans Jennifer. Don't need to stay on hold for that.
