It seems it's not possible to add add-ons mid-billing period - maybe just to make sure customers get their full month's worth. But is there some way, in case of emergency, to do this, even if it means losing a week or more? Thanks.

It is entirely possible to add add-ons mid billing period. The cost would be prorated based on how much of the month is left. What, exactly, are you trying to add?

It should be possible and that it gets pro-rated. How have you tried so far?

I tried adding the U.S. long distance for $10. a couple of days ago, from my Alcatel phone. Maybe the phone is the problem? Iirc, there was a message that said something like 'You can't add add-ons at this time.'

You should definitely be able to add that at any time. Make sure you have tried using the koodo app, the mobile site, and the full website. If you are still unable to add it, call koodo and let them know. They should be able to add it for you waive the service fee since the self serve options are not working.

The phone itself shouldn't be the issue. How exactly did you try to add it? Via the self-serve app? Online?

I tried with my Alcatel phone using self-serve.

I would try the website as well and if it still won't work then as Time said: call 611 and explain what's going on

For future reference, try to use the website instead of the app for account changes. I find the app to be very good for glancing at usage info, but it's never been as good as the website for account modification.

OK, I'll use a computer to add this add-on. Now, if I only want it for one month, how do I cancel it? Or do add-ons have to be added on every month?

Add ons will stay until removed. You remove them via self serve, more or less exactly the same way you add them.

When I tried to add this add-on just now on a computer, I got this message: "Your plan is not eligible to be changed at this time. (PPI-6)". I'll call 611 tomorrow.

Hey, definitely sounds strange! How long have you had your current plan for? Were you able to get it added on with our customer service team :)?

I've had the (monthly) plan since Oct. '15.  Only after I paid the bill (well before the due date, as always, with a zero tab) was I able to make changes to my add-ons.
