Add second phone number on same phone?

Is it possible to add a second phone number to my phone? My current number is a 514 area code, I'd like to add a second number with a 613 area code. I live outside of Ottawa, but I work in Montreal. I don't want to carry two phones.

I'm on the 56 unlimited + 2gb data plan from December.

If this isn't possible without a second SIM card, then I guess I'll just get a VOIP app for the 613 number.

Thanks for any help/advice.

It depends what phone you have. If you have the iPhone or Galaxy S 2&3. It would be recommended to have one of these phones because it will make getting a second # easier.

Some comapnies are starting to make dual-SIM phones that can hold 2 numbers, but I don't think at this stage Koodo is doing it yet!

I would just use Dell or Google Voice to get the second phone #. Dual SIM phones aren't readily available in North America (I hear they're more popular internationally)

If you want a dual sim phone, check out Ebay. Lots of choice on there ;-)

Hi there, if you're eligible you could add another subscriber on your account. You would need another SIM card though and swap them on your handset, which will not be convenient. However, we can't provide a 2nd number for one subscriber.

Would it be possible to get a second number and just have it forwarded to the phone?

Yes. Any VoIP service can do that relatively cheaply, so shop around. Most can also provide you with 800-service.
