Hi, I am a new customer to Koodo. I am bringing my own phone over, so i just ordered a SIM card with monthly post paid plan (not prepaid). I just received the shipping conformation email with tracking today. I have a couple questions, Do I need to go into a Koodo store to activate my new sim card once received or will I get an activation email? if I do not need to go into store, when will I receive the email? I have check my junk and my inbox, nothing yet. Also if I want to port my phone number from another company, do i need to go to store for that? and with activation email will I receive my account number for self registration for online access? Thank you

Your sim should come already activated. You can port your number in to Koodo online through your self serve account. You will receive an email from Koodo with a link in it to create your self serve account. You should not have to go in to a store to do anything.

Thank you Mats!

is there a timeline on when I should receive the link to self serve? will that have my account number with it?

The email should come around the same time your sim does and have your account number as well. Make sure to only create your self serve account through the link in the email Koodo sends or you will run into problems.

I have the same problem. Just received the SIM card I ordered my mail, but can not register for my online self-serve account. I tried registering with the number I found on the paper that came with my shipping order where it says "Customer: xxxxxxxx" but it doesn't work. When I tried to register, it says that I still need email approval. I hope the email comes soon!

@Dinh: Yes. I tested the SIM in one of my phones and nothing happens. There isn't the Koodo symbol that appears in the corner. I don't think it is activated.

Yes, I'm contacting them on Facebook about this.

Thanks!

Maybe you made a mistake in the e-mail that's why you didn't receive it yet. Please keep us updated with the output of the problem.

@Jesse, I see someone is already helping you on Facebook to reset your account for your email.

Yes. Someone called Nab is helping me out on Facebook.

After I contacted them on Facebook, they sent me an email with my real account number and phone number. In addition, my SIM card was activated. However, I still haven't been able to register for an online self-serve account. When I enter the information for registration, it says that my email is already registered and I need to wait for approval (same problem as before).

Like you have all said, it wasn't a good idea to try to register before receiving the email. I contacted them again to tell them that I still wasn't able to register for my self-serve account on Facebook and they told me to fill out a secure form so they can help me out. I filled out the secure form and now I'm waiting for help :)

I really need to transfer my old phone number over to Koodo before it expires on the 7th, so hope this works out soon.

Thank you all for your help

Yes, the form was to validate your account for security purposes. Someone will be able to reset your self serve account tomorrow.
