A little angry with Koodo.

My wife and I have been Koodo prepaid customers for a long time. I have decided to get my wife and myself new phones. The easiest, cheapest way to do that, was to go to a monthly plan. No big deal, costs a bit more, and maybe I'll use the phone more. Maybe cancel my land line (yes, I still have one of those).
Long story short. We went to a koodo kiosk. I told him the phone I wanted, and he told me the plans I could get. I ended up with a $74/month, Tab Large plan. Due to the phone. Okay, that's fine. I can deal with that.
Now, I go to Koodo web site, find the exact same plan for $60/month. The only difference that I can see is that the data overage price is slightly higher on the $60/month plan.

There isn't even a $60 plan available for tab large in BC though so where are you seeing this?

It's not clear whether the $74 price you're quoting is the total you pay for your line each month. If it is, bear in mind that it includes the monthly payment for the phone, which would be added onto the $60 plan you see listed as well.

The $74 is the plan amount. The Tab charge is $21. Coming to $95/month.

There is no $60 plan available on tab large or any tab or non tab for that fact in BC, so where are you seeing this $60 plan that's the same as what you pay $74 for?

What phone did you get?

Tab L plan start from $74.   $60$65 plan is within Tab M.
If you used Tab M, then you need to pay more upfront to buy a phone since you can put $360 on Tab M ( $504 for Tab L.

I got the Samsung S8. Now, I'm wondering if I'll have to pay the extra on the phone, now that I changed to Tab M.

Retail price of S8  is $1035.

On Tab L : You pay $300 upfront + $504 ($21/mo x 24 mo) = $804 = You save $231

On Tab M : You pay $590 upfront +$360 ($15/mo x 24 mo) = $950 = you save $85
Those saving amount for the phone.

You could use Tab M, but you needed pay more upfront and plan could be cheaper.  With Tab L, total plan price is more expensive, but you saved more on the phone.

You can pay off your Tab after 3 monts and switch to one of Tab M plan if you want.
