$50 bonus gift only for 'new' activations, while loyal customers get no deals

Does anyone else find it unfair that the $50 bonus gift is only for new tab activations? I have a bb with Koodo right now and want to upgrade to S4. But it really irked me how 'new' customers get the chance to save whereas loyal customers do not.

No I don't because all current customers had the same opportunity to take advantage of any promotions offered at the time they signed up. I certainly did and many others have. Just because you may not have gotten anything when you signed up because Koodo wasn't offering any at that time, it doesn't make it unfair

To expand on this, I don't see the need in making a new thread.

What if the bonus gift was given to existing customers, given they have been with koodo for 1, 2, or 3 years, have paid off their tab, and their account is in good standing?

@Ahmad wow wasn't expecting such harsh words.

@Josh765 As you can see, I'm still a 'noob' here and the thread you posted did not come up on the 'may have already been asked' list before I posted. Just did a more thorough search, did not find the exact one you were referring to but found others. My bad.

No problem! I didn't mean to word it so harshly, I just wanted to say it direct so there was no confusion ahaha, I also considered making my own thread regarding this matter, thats why :P

Ahmad doesn't mince words and can be harsh at times, but I didn't see it in this case. He simply disagreed, as it's anyone's right.

that being my first post and that being the very first reply, I was just a little taken aback I guess. Thanks for enlightening me about him.

Hi Farah,

There is a huge thread (under consideration too, yay!) about offering something for loyal customers. It's actually the top thread in the popular ideas section! http://community.koodomobile.com/kood...

It's got over 260 votes so far so it is absolutely safe to say that you are not the only one :D

Welcome to the forums and I hope you keep posting your thoughts, ideas and questions :D

Yeah I saw that thread but couldn't get the past the first few posts where most of the loyalty suggestions were being bashed and the posters were being made to seem 'ungrateful'. However, 260 votes has given me hope again! Thanks!

Now... I want the same for prepaid... free booster for every 6 months of loyalty or so hehehe :) If Bell can do it, why not Koodo :P

Agreed Sophia! Maybe not the same as for monthly customers, but we should have some rebates here and there at times, like 10% off a booster of your choice, or double-minutes (or data) promo for a limited time when you buy the corresponding booster. Anyway, I still love prepaid, but a lil extra is always welcome! :)

Unfortunately some of the people in this community have no interpersonal skills and as such, feel they can talk to others any way they like. Don't let that stop you from asking anything or suggesting anything in this community. Every bit of input is appreciated as long as it is Koodo related :P
I hope you still place your vote for the very large thread.
Granted, there are those out there that want something for nothing and due to the few bad apples, that sort of hurt some of the public's attitude towards loyalty. I believe the term is credit seekers. I do not feel this way about you. I just wanted to make that clear lol

I know Ahmad can come across as you say, harsh, but that is how he is. It's great because he doesn't candy coat anything and says it how it is. He is not like that all the time and in the past I have heavily disagreed with him. He is a very knowledgeable member of the community which is why he has that MM status and I hope he keeps it. I hope there was no offense in this, Ahmad. I meant well lol

I appreciate your post :) and yes I did vote on that thread.

Yeah I've read on other related posts how some people would abuse the whole 'existing customers get gift cards too' by getting new phones every time and selling it or whatever. Guess I was too naive to think of sneaky things like that.

Again, that being my first post and that being the very first reply, I was just a little taken aback I guess. Thanks for enlightening me about him.

No problem :)

I know we aren't perfect and there is the odd day here and there where my attitude is poor so I keep my answers short lol.

Welcome to the community and hope to see more ideas/questions for you :)

I would like to see the same offers extended to existing customers. To make it fair to Koodo as well, I'd only do it for scenarios that are virtually identical.

For example: a new customer activates a new account and gets a new phone on the tab, receives gift card.

Existing customer gets new phone outright, or partially on the tab - no gift card.

Existing customer with clean tab gets a new phone using the full tab amount - same gift card as new customer.

As far as I see it, those gift cards are incentives to "hook" you on to the tab (indeterminate contract), so it really shouldn't matter whether or not the customer is new.

Just to throw this out there, currently at retail stores the gift cards offered ARE available to existing customers as well as new customers. Most phones have a $50 gift card so if your upgrading your account you can still get the gift card.

The only difference is your phone price would be different depending on whats available on your tab. Which is fair because you are still paying off the initial discount you got, just like someone who signed up today would do if they wanted to upgrade in a year.

And I know this is currently true for Best Buy, Future Shop, Walmart, London Drugs, Mobile Shop.

Be careful to look at the dates on the threads you're replying to cause this one is over 6 months old. Reviving old threads is frowned upon in the community. But it's a VISA gift card that can be used pretty much anywhere that accepts Visa
