I called Koodo service at 855 205 2112 (don’t call 611 or 866), waited for like 7 mins and a representative answered and I told her that I wanna get the new plan. She asked me to be on hold for 5 mins then explained to me that if I wanna get that plan I need to pay off my tab... well what’s the point? I can just switch to Telus or rogers... after paying off the tab... Koodo has really been disappointing old customers

The plan is only for BYOD customers. Feel free to switch to another company if you want. Like you said, it doesn't really make a difference.

It's the same plan at other carriers too. You must BYOD. The fact you got through to a rep is a win. Many customers are not even able to get through (at all carriers)

I honestly didn’t expect to get thru... but I did twice in a row. I didn’t switch eventually since I have a tab. But honestly for those customers without a tab they really can jump into bigger carriers without paying more

Allan thats an ignorant answer indeed. Maybe understanding people are frustrated by the way Koodo is handling things may help. Take that ignorant attitude somewhere else.

I completely understand how people feel. That's why I'm suggesting to switch carriers.
This promo is only for new BYOD customers and was supposed to be picked up in store. It's much more worth someone's time to switch carriers then to argue with a Koodo rep after waiting on hold for a ridiculous amount of time.
Not sure how my reply was ignorant...

It has been a struggle industry wide

It's happening across all carriers. Unfortunately your best bet is to sign up as a new customer at a kiosk or to sign up with a new provider

I'm current Koodo customer; 22 mins on hold, not bad considering what's been happening; Customer service rep asked that as a current customer, that would I be ok with a call back from Loyalty Dept to give me the 10G $60 rate; not a problem; he sent me a text with confirmation number and outlining $60/10G plan. I can wait a day.

I had basically the same thing that happened to me today too. I'm just waiting now for call. I sent an email just in case too.

I'd cover my butt and sign up elsewhere as a back up just in case

I can also voach for this. Don't call *611 or 866. All 3 calls I've made tonight have been like 10-15 mins at the most.
