Wind and koodo have different promotions. As far as I know there is no 5$ deal. All the active deals and addons are on the Koodo self serve website.

The wind 5$ off is only if you bring a phone to activate with and don't buy one with them. They take 5$ off of the plan you choose, so if the plan is advertised at 50$ it would be 45$. However, as pretty much everyone here is more familiar with Koodo than Wind, I would suggest contacting Wind directly for more information.

Koodo does not offer this. However, do note that with Wind you only get coverage within the WIND network, it is not a nation-wide carrier. So if you ever leave the WIND coverage network, your paying extra.

How much data are you using in a month? What's nice with boosters is that it lasts for as long as it takes for you to completely use the add-on. So if you pay in your first month 80$+taxes, and in that month you only use half of the gb of data, then you could just renew the base-plan at 50$+taxes and then add a new booster whenever you need it again.

If all your doing is 10-30 emails a day, then the 1gb of data should last you quite a while. Take a look at Koodo's data calculator and see how much usage you would have.
