When the Nitty Gritty says "international text messages sent and received anywhere in Canada" does that mean international text messages sent from, or received in, Canada? Because if the text message is sent and received in Canada, that is not an international text message. Please clarify.

You can send texts to anywhere and receive texts from anywhere as long as you are in Canada.

You can also receive texts for free while you are anywhere in the world.

An important fact to consider if you are up-in-the-air over roaming possibilities and charges.

That was something I didn't realize, @Goran.  So if you don't use EasyRoam and go pay-per-use, the incoming texts are free and only outbound are charged?

Correct! Even if you have easy roam on your account, an incoming text wont trigger the easy roam to activate.
