I have $5 in unexplained Data & SMS charges this month. I have 1GB of data per month in my $45 plan and I only used 436.79 MB this past month, yet I'm getting charged. It appears under "additional usage charges." Who do I call to resolve this?

Hey Starmak, pls see if on the 3rd page of your invoice you see any charges for roaming text. That would explain the charge, if you were outside of Canada and sent a few SMS. I hope this helps.

Okay thanks. I just checked and there is a charge for one single roaming text sent.
Is there any way of finding out the phone number? I can painstakingly go through all my texts, but $5 seems like a crazy high charge for one single text. I may have sent a text to a Canadian friend who is travelling in the US. Could that have been it? What should I look for? I just want to know how to prevent this in the future. Thanks!

We have unlimited text packages starting from $10. The pay-per-use fee is $5 for 100 outgoing text messages. If it was only one text message you sent that would explain it.

You could potentially find the number by logging into your account see under usage details who it might have been.

Ok thanks. I just checked and found the text I was charged for. It was sent Nov. 7 to a Canadian phone number, but the person is travelling in the US. However, I have sent multiple texts to that number since then without being charged. The person is still in the US. Was this an anomalous charge? How does Koodo treat texts to Canadian phone numbers that are located in the US?
Thanks for your help!

Roaming charges are invited when your phone is connected to a US tower, not the phone you are texting to. Would you happen to have been near the US border when that message was sent?

Oh, yes that's it. I was in the US for just a couple of days when I sent that text. Totally got confused because the addressee was also in the US at the time. That explains it. i will be more careful in the future! Thanks for your help.
