Hi, I just switched to this plan, does this mean I'll be charged for every outgoing text, since the plan specifically states incoming? I called Koodo and they say outgoing texts will not be charged but if so why does it specify incoming? Also since the plan has 0 minutes, will I be charged for incoming calls as well?

Only incoming texts are free and outgoing texts are pay per use and every minute of talk time is billed separately. As a comparison the $35 plan has unlimited texting and 500 weekday minutes (evenings and weekends are free).

Well, if you click on the note (2), next to the unlimited incoming messages, they said " Includes international text messages sent and received anywhere in Canada. Availability of service will vary by country and is subject to change without notice. Excludes premium and subscription-based messages. Additional data charges apply depending on picture size when roaming in the U.S. and internationally. Picture messaging is supported by BlackBerry smartphone with a SIM card only if a BlackBerry is added to a Koodo plan or a Koodo data plan is chosen. Picture messaging works only if data is turned on. "
So that plan does include unlimited texting (in/out)

I thought it was supposed to be a data-only plan. I would not be surprised if the ‘2’ is in error!

Well, they didn't mentioned about the text overage and the OP mentioned that the agent told him/her outgoing text was included. I was thinking that Koodo might miss something there or mix up.

Is there any way I can know whether or not they're billing me for every text I send out?

I can confirm it is purely pay per use when it comes to outgoing texts.
That is a data only plan offered by Koodo. Talk and text is pay per use. Koodo doesnt charge for incoming texts thiugh so you just so happen to get those for free.

You will be charged $0.60/outgoing text and you can view how many texts you've sent/been charged for via your usage in selfserve.
