Why isn’t my texts working?


Only my iMessages are working, however the contact info is showing up as my email not my number and normal texts aren’t going through at all. Not receiving any either. Phone was activated today, and used same phone number that was with different company.

Try to toggle on the button for SEND AS SMS in settings then messages and now try sending, let us know if this worked??

It didn’t work. And for sending and receive it just says my email and my number doesn’t show up.

Can you make/receive phone calls normally? it could be issues on incomplete porting. I would wait a bit and see if the problem resolves by itself.

Yea I can make/receive phone calls. It’s just sending/receiving non iMessage that’s not working.

I'm agreeing with Azure123 , porting can take a while to be setup on all the networks. Give it 24 hrs

If the number in iMessage hasn't updated, try turning off iMessage, restarting the phone and turning iMessage back on again.

Or go to Settings then tap your name, then Name, Phone Numbers, Email, and confirm your phone number is one of the options in the CONTACTABLE AT category. If another number was once associated with your Apple ID, you can deregister it by tapping the INFO icon at the right of the number. You can add your number in this screen as well.
