1. Did you check your coverage? Whether you brought your phone or purchase it through koodo or not, it will not prevent you from accessing LTE. It might be a coverage related issue. Go to general > Cellular > Enable LTE.

Are you in an area that has LTE coverage? If not you wont get it Is your phine set to LTE? Go into the settings and turn it on Make sure you have an LTE compatible SIM Card as well.

Well I didn't really get to choose .. I just bought a regular nano sim at a koodo stand. My 3g cellular data works well. Are you sure that the fact that my iphone is unlocked dosent have something to do with it? Thank you for your help!

Do it with your wifi turned off. You will be testing your cellular data.

If you are under LTE you should be getting anything in between 12 – 25 Mbps

Hard to tell. You got 3 signal bars. 9MBPS which is more than average HSPA+ or 4G. You might be at the edge in between 4G and LTE. I can tell your download speed is higher than 3G and HSPA+ you are close to LTE.

Is it an unlocked North American model? If it's an European/Asian GSM model you may not have the correct LTE bands. If you do have a domestic model and are within the LTE coverage area, try doing a network settings reset (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings). Your phone will reboot (all WiFi network preferences will be forgotten so make sure you have all the necessary passwords).
Well i bought it online on the canadian apple store so i think so.

Alright, it's definitely local. Try doing the network reset. If you truly can't get LTE in LTE areas, this is definitely something to warrant a warranty replacement from Apple (you'll have to deal directly with them).
