Unlocking iPhone 5 via koodo customer service

hey guys,
I callled koodo customer service to unlock my iPhone 5, shortly after they send an email saying .

- If you have a SIM card from another carrier:
  1. Remove your current SIM card and insert the non-Koodo SIM card
  2. Complete the setup process
- If you encounter any issues unlocking your iPhone with the instructions above:
  1. Back up your iPhone
  2. Restore the iPhone to factory settings
  3. Restore your iPhone from the backup you just made
I tried both of that ^

and its still not working, i used a rogers sim to test,  is there anything else I can try ?

So your Koodo sim works and your Rogers sim still does not connect?

Can you verify that the Roger's sim works?

Then I would call Koodo back.  In my opinion, the unlock did not go through if you tried everything it said in the email.

Yeah, whenever the phone is not unlocked in the apple system, but you won't be able to complete the unlocking process which involves the steps Koodo gave to you.

Hey Eric! If you are having some issues or are getting this type of error message "[i]The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported. Only compatible SIM cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iPhone. Please insert the SIM card that came with your
iPhone or visit a supported carrier store." You can try to restore your iPhone to factory settings and then restore your phone from a backup.
Let us know if this works!

Mmm sounds odd! What's the error message that pops up when inserting the Roger's SIM card?

I would try going to:

General --> Settings ---> Reset ---> Reset Network Settings

Be aware, this will reset the network settings. Meaning that all WiFi passwords (if automatically saved will be unsaved), that's the only real issue that it will have - assuming you know your WiFi password, there's nothing to lose by trying it.

What method of factory reset have you tried? iTunes or on the phone?

I've had issues recently with an iPhone unlock. In my case, it was Apple that was slow in adding the IMEI to the unlock whitelist.

Since it's been a few days now, chances are that something wasn't processed right. I would call customer service again to make sure that the unlock was processed by Apple (they can see if it's pending or complete). Delays aren't unheard of, but it's never been days (to my knowledge).

But before you place the call, please make sure that both your iPhone and iTunes are up to date. If either isn't running the newest software, the unlock will not complete.
