Switching Plans

Currently My iphone is on a Koodo account with other phones from other members of my family. In a couple weeks I need to change this so that I will be paying for my bill separately. What is the best way to do this? Also The Account Holder on my current plan will be in Nova Scotia, and I will be in Ontario trying to do this.

You and the person who owns your account now will have to go in and get a transfer of ownership for the line your using right now and wish to transfer into your name. Keep in mind it cost $25
Ok, that may prove difficult having multiple provinces between us. Would best route be cancel that phone and just sign up myself with the phone? I own it outright.

If you do not need to keep your number and plan (make sure you compare your plan with what the current in market plans are in Ontario), then yes it would be easiest (and cheaper) to cancel your line and sign up as a new customer. Maybe sign up first and then cancel once you are setup incase you run into any issue.

Hi William, a transfer of ownership can be done over the phone, so you won't have to worry about the distance 🙂 The current owner simply needs to contact us first in order to initiate the transfer. You will then have 10 days to call us and complete the transfer. We'll do a credit check and you can keep your phone number and plan, except if this plan was specific to Nova Scotia. We can be reached at *611 from the cell or 1-866-995-6636 from another phone, option #5. If you own the phone (no Tab), don't forget to request the No-Tab discount, which offers 10% off your plan and add-ons every month 🙂 Thank You! ________________________ If you see a good answer, give it a star.
