switched from telus but cannot connect to Koodo

the SIM card sent with phone does not connect. We had a temp number provided and my account shows the correct phone number

When you say "does not connect" what exactly do you mean? Does it say invalid sim, emergency calls only, works but with the temporary number, works for certain things but not others, etc.
