Hey carole, try checking on Samsung web site to see if there is any software upgrade for the phone you have, also try saving all your data (contacts, pictures, videos, texts, emails etc)on your PC or Laptop and do a factory reset on your phone as well take a look on the apps you may have downloaded and check on the reviews to see if any of them will make your phone run slow check on the settings of your phone the status of the memory , and look for the running services , some apps will run in the background even though you are not using them and will cause your phone go slow

Take off the security lock, and do not run big memory apps like skype in the background. And do not use a live wallpaper. That has helped alot with the lag on this phone. If you continue to experience lag then the phone is not powerful enough for your needs and if you just bought it you should return it for a more powerful phone if it's within 14days from purchase.
