If my iPhone is shut right down I can’t restart it unless it’s plugged in. How can I fix it?

Depending on the model of your iphone, you could check the way to restart it here https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT201559

So plug it in? What's the issue here?
I’m not always carry my cord or near a plug.

Is it shut down because it ran out of power or was something else causing the issue?
I always shut it right down at night and recharge. And sometimes when I’m out in case I misplace it. But if I want to turn it on the Apple lights up for a second then goes out. But if it’s plugged in it’ll start up.

When you turn it on while its plugged in and then unplug it will it stay on?
As well have you recently done any damage to it? Dropping or liquid damage?

I would simply not shut it down overnight. There's no reason to. If you want to not be disturbed then just put it on silent.

If it's fully charged, you shut it off fully, and it won't turn on again, then that's an issue. If you're still.under warranty you can always go to an apple store to have it fixed.

So you're telling us that the iPhone, once shut down, can't be opened unless there's a plug nearby? And that's not because it's out of battery? That's the only case I see you would need a plug to open your iPhone.

I would recommend a visit to the Apple Store : http://getsupport.apple.com/

When it is fully charged, try shutting it down and then turning it back on again. Does it work?
