Porting your number from Bell to Koodo

I recently just got a koodo phone, I want to switch from Bell to Koodo and keep my same number. I filled out the request to port phone number yesterday. I have not yet canceled my Bell account. Today when people call it rings on both phones. But when I call someone from the koodo phone it doesn't show my old number, but the koodo number. Also not getting all my texts either.

How do I get all my texts and phone calls to my new koodo phone using my old number? When should I cancel my Bell plan?

Seems like it's halfway there but not working right

It can take a few hours to overnight for the port to complete. Your Bell account will automatically be closed at the end of the process.

OK so, currently here's what's happening today. I'm getting calls and texts on both my bell phone and my new koodo phone. when someone calls my number both devices ring. I can send and receive texts from both phones as well. I just contacted Bell and my account is still active. How can this be?
I thought when you have your number ported your account with the old provider is automatically canceled.  It's been 2 days.

You can also try restarting your phone, sometimes that will complete it for your phone to work correctly with the ported number.

Check again tomorrow. It is all run by computers, and the databases are often updated overnight when things are slow.

Try turning off your Bell phone and removing the SIM Card, you will now get calls and texts only on the Koodo phone.

What do you mean Bell mobile is on your phone? If you look at your sim card, does it say koodo or bell? Assuming the phone works, if the sim card says Koodo, you're with Koodo, if it says Bell, you're with Bell.
