Porting out number confirmation request


Activated the 10GB $60 at Bell 3 hours today and provided them my Koodo account number to port my number out. With the Bell sim card, I’ve been able to call and use data from my original phone number ever since the activation but I still have access to my Koodo account. The account doesn’t seem to be cancelled and my plan still shows on it. Wondering if the port out was successful and why my Koodo account’s still active? My Koodo account was activated 6 days old before I ported my number out, will I get a prorated bill? Thanks in advance.

You still have access to your self serve account for a bit after you cancel so that you can get any information you need, pay your final bill, etc.
If your number has been ported out, then your Koodo account has been cancelled.

Update: just received a no reply email from koodo notifying me that the account cancellations scheduled on the 25th. I ported out my number yesterday (12/19/17) so why am I charged until my bill date? Unable to reach koodo by calling, their lines busy.

I think it was the way they wrote the cancellation email. They meant at the date, they will review your account and send you a final bill.

The service should be terminated the day you ported. It is a CRTC rule (you can cancel at anytime).

OP, wait until you get your final bill, then call Koodo and ask them to refund the extra charges.

Azure123, you would think that, but Koodo/TELUS' systems do not comply with the law. They are making $$ off of people who are not aware of this. The only time the cancellations and refunds work correctly is if you port between Koodo/TELUS/PM.

Hey guys, just received my bill and got charged $22.60 which accounts for 10 days of usage. Like I mentioned earlier, I ported my number out on the 19th and started the service on the 15th so why am i being charged Up until my bill date (25th)? Does koodo not automatically prorate the bill according to my cancellation date?

Did it say in your bill that they charged you from 15-25?. If so, you have to call Koodo and dispute. Billing must be done with Koodo directly.

I shouldn’t have to dispute for a prorated bill sigh...its my right to cancel my service
