Ontario pays too much, why?

What is so special about Ontario service? You know, with much worse rates for data than say SK or MB, there must be some pretty special megabytes in the air here. I must have gotten lost during research and thought I could get 6 GB for $60! Imagine my surprise to see the surprise on the Koodo rep's face - best they can do is 3 GB for $75!

I just wanted to hear a real answer for once, instead of a side step to something like "please contact our customer service dept for all your data needs..."

Unfortunately the only real answer we keep getting is the competition is simply stronger in that region... instead of at least adjusting the other plans accordingly, it seems that we get hosed instead. It's been this way for years and nothing is changing anytime soon.

If only customers are willing to use a strategy where they all move to 1 carrier.  That will place pressure on other carriers to lower their prices as a form of survival.  Then everyoine needs to coordinate and move to the cheapest carrier.  This will force a price war.

However customers do not act in a coordinated fashion and everything becomes evenly split when all things are equal

You complain that Ontario is unfairly paying higher rates than the rest of Canada, but of the 10 provinces in Canada, only MB, SK and QC have rates which are significantly different in any way, which can be traced directly to local competition. BC, AB, ON, PE, NB, NL and NS all pay roughly the same price.

Balance everything out, please. The GTA gets way better features and coverage than those of us lost souls in St. Who is Abandoned, QC or Woebegone, SK.

GTA is where the big bucks are spent by all the providers.
