Need help I messed up! Payed the wrong account can I get my money back?


I recently switched my Koodo account from my dads name to my own. He doesn't have a plan with Koodo so that account was closed. I had the old account save in my TD bank app and I payed my $115 bill to the old account. Since the account is closed the money is basically just gone. Is there anywhere I can get my money refunded to me?? I can't afford to lose that much money.

When did you pay? If you did it today, you have until Tuesday 11:59PM ET to cancel it with TD.

I did it Monday and I didn't realize what I did until the payment didn't clear

If I recall, the closed account remains accessible for 90 days. You should be able to contact Koodo and request the monies be refunded. You may have to negotiate with your father for the final step, as it would likely be sent as a cheque in his name. It is also possible that as the account is closed, the money will be returned to your account.
