There's no activation required. If its available in your area it will connect to it. Of course make sure I'm settings you leave wcdma/lte/if there's a anything else as the option for network to connect to. I guess that's how it's "activated" but it should be on it by default

Then LTE may not be available to you until you travel to a location with better (LTE) coverage.

I have LTE, I've seen 3G come up when I'm in town. However, no 4G yet

iPhone won't show 4G in most instances. You will see 3G or LTE on the screen. LTE is a form of 4G.

I searched my area, and 4G is accessible. You're absolutely right, LTE is much faster. Ty

For the ordinary people, 4G is the same as LTE. No difference.
