iPhone 6 and old plan

iPhone 6 We are looking to upgrade to the iphone 6. We have a plan that is no longer offered but want to get the phone on tab. Are we going to have to switch to a new plan?

No, during the renewal process u are able to select, keep current price plan. So you don't have to worry about ur plan changing
Thats great. The last time went to upgrade they told us we needed a new plan or we'd have to pay full price for the phone.

Hi there, It all depends on the tab size you choose when you get a new phone.

On a tab small you can have any plan at all when getting a new phone, you only get $150 off the retail price of the phone.

On a tab medium you have to have a minimum plan of $30/month + $5 tab charge to help pay it off faster (on the iPhone 6 you get an additional $100 off with a medium tab, so $400 vs $300) now the tab large I will not go into detail about because it is not the best choice. Hope that helps answer your question 🙂

Actually, the device you buy and the plan you have are unrelated. Here's how it all works. You have 3 Tab choices on Koodo: 1) Tab Small ($150 off sticker price) 2) Tab Medium ($300 off sticker price) 3) Tab Large ($500 off sticker price) Requirements for Tab Small: a) No minimum requirement regarding plan price b) Can be used with any plan, old or new c) Has no extra monthly charge attached to it Requirements for Tab Medium: a) Plan needs to be priced $29 or more, before taxes, can be old or new plan b) Has a $5/month Tab charge attached to it Requirements for Tab Large: a) Can't be used with any other plan than Tab Large plan b) Has a $10/month Tab surcharge attached to it Since their introduction last year, Tab Medium has consistently been shown to offer by far the best value out of the three. Tab Small is nice too for entry level devices and allow any plan to be used. Tab Large should be avoided at all costs. The overall cost of ownership on one of these plans is through the roof. Stick to either Medium or Small Tabs, in this order, and you'll be fine 🙂 Hope this helps!
Our plan is the Canada-Wide Data Double 45 so I assume that a tab medium. Maybe the employee wasn't informed properly. Thanks for all the info!

You're welcome! Tab medium would be the best option for you in this case, another thing, if you have a double promo plan, don't get rid of it, you'll never get it back if you do. So when you decide to get a new phone, enjoy! 🙂

Yup, what Daniel said! Absolutely do [i]not ever get rid of your plan! Since your plan is over $29, you qualify for TabMedium, so enjoy your savings! You could also go for Tab Small if you wanted to, but Medium offers better value, so go for it 🙂

Yeah, we will never get rid of it! It's the best plan out of any plan that is now available from any carrier

I had to change plans when I got my iPhone 4s, because my plan was not available anymore. But the previous phone was not a smart phone either.

It's all dependent upon the size of tab you would have to have chosen. Regardless if the plan is available anymore or not you'd still have some way of keeping it. If you had a plan that was less than $30/month you would only qualify for the tab small, if it was over $30 you would have been fine to have either tab small or medium. If you wanted the tab large you're required to change your plan to a tab large plan which is a minimum of $80/month ($70 + $10 tab charge) unfortunately.
