iPhone 5S Price Adjustment

Userlevel 1
I am currently a Koodo customer and I am thinking to get the iPhone 5S because it looks so sweet and having a new phone with more memory, faster processing and speed sounds pretty awesome to me. Also, having a phone with a better camera, a bigger screen and Siri doesn't hurt either. As I was browsing plans and options for the phone, it seems like all the other carriers which include Bell, Telus, Rogers, and Virgin Mobile happen to offer the phone at a cheaper rate than Koodo, while still having the same minimum monthly spending requirement. Those guys offer it for $99.00 upfront which requires an $80-$85 Max/Pro/Plus/Platinum/Large Plan (each company has some silly name for their plan) but they all require an $80/month plan where as Koodo offers it on the same monthly plan and requires $225 upfront. Is Koodo going to be lowering down the upfront price for the iPhone 5S as well? I would love to stay being a Koodo customer, but I guess if Koodo doesn't lower it down my other option would be Telus or Virgin Mobile? PS.. those guys also have 32GB and 64GB storage options for $199 and $299 while still requiring an $80/month plan whereas Koodo doesn't even carry anything larger than 16GB.

I also believe that all Koodo customers, whether new or existing customers should be getting the best product and value for their money and spending. This will also help more people to be leaning more towards Koodo, and help to bring more customers.

It seems like you've asked this twice already. We have no idea if they will adjust the price, the answers you got in those previous threads is probably the most you will get out of this question. sorry 😞

I thought this thread goes to Koodo client care and they review over it?

So why not you buy it from the Apple store (it will be unlocked) and bring it to Koodo. You can pick any plan - better plan- you want 🙂 Add : And if you bring your own device, you will get 10% off from your monthly plan. I think It will be better value in the end.

But I would be wanting unlimited Canada wide calling and texting, and at least 1 or 2 GB of data so buying it for Apple and putting it on the same price would be kind of silly and pointless and cost way too much! But true, the 10% discount would make up for some the money spent in about 3-5 years but I rather go on a contract

Nothing is going to change the more you ask it, it will go on sale if it goes on sale. Why not look for one second hand I'm selling a brand new iPhone 5s for a few hundred dollars less than the retail price so there must be others in your area doing something similar, just check out kijiji

The problem with Koodo vs the other carriers is the contract vs the tab (and I know a tab is technically a contract). For Koodo to lower their commitment price of the phone, they would have to lower the outright price of it, and with iPhones that's generally regulated by Apple. So unless Apple gave them permission to slash the outright price of the phone they can't lower it, meaning they can't adjust the price you pay for it on a tab.

Virgin Mobile and Fido operate on the same terms and tab options as Koodo and they offer it on the same option as tab large with an upfront price of $99.00
