iPhone 5S "no service" abroad


I just got a new iphone (bought unlocked in the Apple store) and it worked fine as long as I was still in Canada. Am in the Netherlands as of today and I can't seem to get a signal. It shows "no service" all the time and I have tried all the suggestions done by Apple for the problem. Put my sim card in my partners iPhone and it doesn't work either. So it must be a Koodo problem. How can it be solved? Thanks already in advance.

Did you add the international voice roaming add on to your account? It's required for service outside of Canada.

Unfortinately, Koodo doesn't guarentee services for outside Canada. Best i can do is provide the frequencies Koodo runs on and to verify the frequencies with the roaming carrier over there. If the carrier runs on different frequencies the phone won't work for that network. 😞 Koodo runs on HSPA 850/900/1800/1900 MHZ frequencies

The iPhone 5S has all of the worldwide 2G and HSPA frequency bands. She may not get LTE over there with her Canadian iPhone 5S, but she should still be able to roam on any network in Europe providing that Koodo has a roaming agreement with them.
