iPhone 5s also go CDMA?

Will the new iPhone 5S from koodo work also on CDMA when I am not in a gsm area, but I am in a know CDMA area? Will the phone switch on its own?

Not the Koodo ones I dont even know where to get a CDMA iphone 5s in Canada
I heard and read THE IPHONE 5S itself can also be used CDMA as long as the carrier has CDMA coverage? I.e. used both gsm and CDMA?

The iPhone 5S does have a CDMA model and a GSM model, but there is no model that has both of them together. So effectively, to answer your question -- no.

The CDMA model is a hybrid and does indeed have both. Here are all 5S models (from apple.com): Model A1533 (GSM)*: UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 13, 17, 19, 20, 25) Model A1533 (CDMA)*: CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B (800, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 13, 17, 19, 20, 25) Model A1453*: CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B (800, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26) Model A1457*: UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20) Model A1530*: UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20); TD-LTE (Bands 38, 39, 40)

To clarify. ALL Canadian carriers get the same model (which is the same as the AT&T and T-Mobile ones), which do not have CDMA antennas. There are separate models made for Verizon and Sprint which are CDMA compatible, but also have the GSM/HSPA towers. These will only work for CDMA on the network they were purchased for (again Verizon or Sprint). They will work for roaming (or if unlocked) on largely the same GSM/HSPA networks as the other model. These will NOT get LTE on those other networks however (Verizon/Sprint use different LTE bands). Hope this helps.

That was true for the 5, but I'm not sure about the 5S. Check out my reply above. Apple has added a lot of LTE support to the models.
