Intermittent SIM not valid/No Service

For the last week my iPhone SE has had intermittent failures to connect to the Koodo network. Sometimes it reports 'Invalid SIM' and sometimes it just says 'No Service'. Rebooting the phone or putting it in Airplane mode for a few seconds usually gets it to function again. My son's phone has been exhibiting the same behaviour. Is this coincidence that both SIM cards fail at the same time, or is this a problem with Koodo''s network? Has anybody dealt with this problem? Has Koodo offered an explanation or solution?

Hi Adam, try turning your phone off LTE and to CDMA Only and see if that solves the issue. If it does then your in an area where LTE is very weak and keeps disconnecting and the phone isn't switching over to the slower but more reliable network.
Thanks, I'll try that. But I'm in downtown Montreal, so spotty LTE service shouldn't be the issue.
Cheers!

Did you both get your phones and Sims at the same time? It could indeed be a bad batch of sim cards. Maybe a return to the store to get some new sim cards might be a good idea.
They were purchased a year apart.

You can try taking your phone into a Koodo store and get them to test the SIM out for you. If you contact Koodo as well you can find out if there is something wrong with the service in your area.

Might be time to go into your nearest Koodo retailer and upgrade to a newer iPhone, such as the iPhone 6s or the iPhone 7.
Hope that helps!

Jru no need to just go from post to post telling ppl to buy a new phone that's not helpful at all.

Especially since the SE is only 14 months old. There should be no reason to replace it. The 6s is barely an upgrade either. $700 for a bigger screen that the OP might not even want is a little drastic.

My son had his SIM replaced at no cost. Mine seems to be behaving. Thanks for all the helpful advice—most appreciated!
